Nobody used to know about these things. And they could not have, but now the secrets of Tibetan monks are available for everybody. A descendant of a family of famous Tibetan doctors, Galsan Bagsha published a book about Tibetan deities in Russia.
Such a thing has never happened in Russia and in Buryatia before. This is the first time that the book "Buddhist Protector Deities" was published in Russian language. All these histories were gradually being forgotten after millennia, because earlier Tibetan lamas observed the strictest secrecy - everything than was connected with religion was transmitted orally only to their "spiritual sons", other men in the religious orders.
So that the biographies of the deities would not fall into oblivion and became available to all the believers, the secretary of His Holiness Dalai-Lama 14th asked the hereditary physician of Tibetan medicine to write this book.
Galsan Bagsha, doctor of Tibetan medicine, said: " The idea of this book originated thanks to Labsan Zhimba. He asked me to write it. At that time I thought; how can I, a simple man without special religious education, write such a sacred book, but later they convinced me that earlier laics also wrote such publications, and I decided to do it."
Galsan Bagsha sought out old writings in ancient archives of the datsans about the protector deities of Dharma. It took several years of painstaking work. At first the book was published in Tibet in a large issue, then in America. It got to Russia by a lucky accident.
Bato Bolotov, the former chief of department for media of the government of Buryatia said: " We met with Galsan Bagsha and he said that he has such book, and we translated it from English. The English language edition is very popular, Alina Olegovna Tsyrempilon, who is a lecturer in English language at BGU helped with the translation."
The doctor of Tibetan medicine Galsan Bagsha says about his plans in Russia: I would like to publish one more book in Russian, also about Buddhism. This time about reincarnated lamas.
